Feeling Down

Fall has always been our favorite time of year. With the festivals, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Court Day it's a time that we look forward to every year. Now that my surgeries are over with and I'm feeling pretty good things are starting to perk up. We've been getting out a lot and house hunting. Our next step is to buy. Dad had a heart attack two weeks ago but he's home and recovering and looked good when we saw him last weekend. Iris is growing like a weed. Pete likes his classes and last week we went to a lecture by the famous Richard Dawkins. Iris hasn't had a seizure in almost a week. We thought we were doing pretty well. And then someone said that Pete looked suicidal. One step forward and three steps back.

Rebecca,

I am sure that Pete (and probably you) have looked suicidal many times to the outside world. Often it is difficult to mask the internal pain to make those around you feel comfortable, so it comes out in our facial expressions, or body language without us knowing it. You know Pete better than anyone...talk to him, or just hug him and tell him you love him a bit more in those moments. I am sure his "suicidal" look will disappear, and he will thank you for caring and being there.
